body loving blogosphere 02.07.10

Hello hello hello marzipanlings.

Perhaps you are watching the superbowl. Perhaps not. I chose a kick-ass rack of lamb dinner and brie mashed potatoes and a pending viewing of The Godfather, but it is no secret that I love football and all the absurdities that surround superbowl sunday, starting with but NOT limited to constructing cakes into the shape of a football and eating potato skins.

I have also relocated, after the long drive south to my ultimate destination of Vieques, Puerto Rico, so my bratty little Sunday looked a little like this:

Totally awesome. And to be fair, it is due, mostly, to C’s insistence. I was all hunkered down to spend my winter in the blustery Northeast, and even bought new boots with which to combat the snow! This is also why my posting has been a bit spotty this week, though it has all been taken care of and we are now back on schedule! And with that, I bring you the newest body loving blogosphere:

• Resolve to evolve shared a fantastic clip with Gabourey Sidibe from Precious. I love her! I love that she loves herself! This clip is completely heartwarming.
• The Demoiselles wants to know what people think about women, beauty, and sex appeal. My favorite part is that they are so wonderfully inclusive in this post, inviting straight and queer opinions alike. And they are just so adorable and fantastic, really, I am minorly obsessed with them, and you should be too.
• Tis the season. Crazy Sexy Life has a great post up, What I Know For Sure About Love, about the power of positive thinking and becoming a love magnet.
• One of the Secret Society of List Addicts’ new posts is about favorite guilty pleasures, and many of mine have made the cut. What a better way to wile away a Sunday?
• Are You Ever Too Tired For Sex? YourTango wants you to know why. And that you’re not alone. And it’s interesting.
• In the same vein, Em & Lo’s ask Dr. Vanessa this week is about medical libido boosters for women. Just in time for Valentines Day… Ha.
• Lots of sex! Sexis has a post up this week which is also interesting, about the Madonna/Whore paradox and the de-sexualizing and re-sexualizing of the American mom.
• I just very recently began reading Chicken Soup for the Dorky Soul and Vanessa is FANTASTIC. This post about the No Good Very Bad Break-Up is great and so is her 365 days of love project. Check it out!

• And last, but certainly not least, Miss Gala Darling has declared February RADICAL SELF LOVE month, which comes at a perfect time and I am totally excited to take part in. You should absolutely check this out ASAP.
