HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY marzipanlings!!
And geeeez, it’s almost over! This has been an really insane and busy day, and of course I had to take a couple of hours off to cook a big family dinner, because my adorable little sister is in town. So hopefully you haven’t all already fulfilled your Sunday awesome reads quota – these reads are worth staying up a little late:
- Katy Widrick wrote an amazing post this week about the healthy living blogger community entitled, “It’s FitBloggin’ not CliqBloggin’!” This is a topic that we’ve been discussing recently in the weekly #fitblog chats, and definitely one that I feel passionate about. Widrick discusses (and I agree) that as bloggers we should be connecting and working together as a community, rather than being competitive with one another.
- Your Wishcake is just the most adorable blogger, and this week she was getting very honest and blogged about her body image. ♥♥♥
- Lately all I can think about is marketing and branding and all manner of high-powered geekiness, and what is appealing to this inner-geek? Sarah Von (from Yes and Yes) created a double post of pure fabulousness this week with How To Hustle Like A Gangsta’ – Networking with Substance, Style, and Soul [Part one, Part two].
- Five Steps to Sexy Mad Men Eye Make-up. Self explanatory, really.
- I’m going to bet, even if you are a fat woman, that you’ve never thought about fat hygiene quite like this. Once again The Rotund explain things that I have thought in my life, but never put quite exactly, or so eloquently into words.
- Man, oh man, am I sure glad this girl came into my life. You should probably check her out on twitter for all manner of body loving awesome. But also, read her post this week on Voice in Recovery about her body image, emotional rollercoaster, and really helpful and insightful solutions.
- A couple of days ago Sally McGraw posted about Body Positive Companies. Want to get behind businesses that share your body loving ideals? Check it out.
- I don’t know about you, but I have been in an exercise rut this week. And then, low and behold, Caitlin [at Healthy Tipping Point] wrote this great post about how to get your exercise mojo back, and I’m feeling a little like I can pull myself together and get down to it.
- Want to become a morning person? I do, so, so, very desperately. Check out Certifiably Fit for some really good guidelines and helpful hints.
And without further adieu, a little love for my mama (the laughing little pink one), though there are varying degrees of mamalove to be witnessed in the photo below. [Isn't my family a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e? I really am obsessed with them.] oxoxoxoxxo.
And finally, a little love note to the most major mama – Mother Earth, who appears to need a lot of love and support in these wild days as she’s rumbling and tumbling it what is hopefully just a new and exciting existence. I have spent the last two hours in absolute oil spill panic, and have come to the conclusion that anxiety will not help but perhaps a love not and some good intention will. So – xoxx.
Last, but certainly not least — what have you written this week that you are exceptionally proud of? We all want to skip on over to your respective blogs and read all about it, so brag a little and tell us what you’ve done this week that is worth immediate attention:
